ELA Coaching for Gifted and High-Achieving Students
Enrichment-focused instruction that challenges students to think deeper, work harder, and reach their full potential
I am a multi-certified NJ teacher currently pursuing my Ed.M. in Special Education at Rutgers University with a Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education, bringing both classroom experience and specialized training to my work with high-achieving students.
For curious, driven students who are outpacing their traditional classroom
Gifted and high-achieving students often demonstrate rapid learning, intense curiosity, advanced vocabulary, and a drive that sets them apart from their peers. But traditional classroom settings don't always provide the level of challenge these students need to stay engaged and continue growing. When the work feels too easy or too slow, even the most capable students can lose motivation.
I work with students in grades K through 12 who are ready for more: more complex literature, more advanced and sustained writing, and materials that push beyond grade level. My approach emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving, not repetition or memorization. Students are encouraged to experiment, persevere through difficulty, and develop the intellectual flexibility and creativity that come from wrestling with genuinely challenging work.
Core areas of focus include:
-
Above-grade-level reading and analysis of complex texts
-
Advanced, extended writing projects that build depth and stamina
-
Critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and creative problem solving
-
Long-term independent projects that foster ownership and self-direction
-
Building drive, grit, resilience, and perseverance
-
Executive functioning skills for managing demanding workloads
I help gifted students build the habits of mind, the resilience, and the love of learning that will serve them for years to come.
