Structured, standards-correlated English Language Arts instruction for students in grades K through 12, available in-person and remotely

 

I help students build strong foundations in reading, writing, and literacy through targeted skill development aligned with New Jersey state standards.​

 

  • Tutoring sessions are offered in individual or small-group formats (3 students maximum, by request) unless otherwise specified.

  • Rates are based on one student per hour on an as-needed basis, but may be adjusted based on number of students, duration of individual session (1 vs. 2 hours), and duration of curriculum plan.

  • Weekly/monthly pricing plans upon request

Kindergarten Thru Elementary

Gen. Ed. - Elementary (K-5) English/Language Arts - Phonics, Reading, Writing, Executive Functioning Skills

Effective, individualized English/Language Arts instruction for elementary students designed to build strong foundations in phonics, reading comprehension, and writing. As a certified language arts teacher, I have over 7 years of experience preparing elementary students for the writing and language arts sections of the NJASK, PARCC, and NJSLA state assessments, including experience teaching at a top 10% K-8 charter school in New Jersey. Core areas of focus include:

  • Phonics development and decoding skills

  • Reading comprehension and close reading strategies

  • Foundational writing and sentence construction

  • Homework support and early study habits

  • Executive functioning skills, including self-monitoring and organization

  • Preparation aligned with New Jersey Language Arts standards

Throughout the process, I emphasize confidence-building, structured skill development, and positive reinforcement, helping students develop strong literacy habits and a lasting love of reading and writing.

Effective, individualized English/Language Arts instruction for middle and high school students, helping learners strengthen academic literacy, analytical reading, and structured writing skills. As a certified language arts teacher, I have over 7 years of classroom experience preparing students for the writing and language arts sections of the NJASK, PARCC, NJSLA, and NJGPA (grade 11) state assessments, including experience at a top 10% K-8 charter school in New Jersey.
